I am a bird that flies freely between borders.
When people try to expand their territory, war breaks out.
When people try to defend their country, war breaks out.
If there were no territory or country, there would be no war.
People call me an idealist.
But I am not the only one who thinks we don't need borders. I am not the only one who wants everyone to help each other and live in peace.
Let's stop war. There are no winners or losers in war. War only creates a cycle of hatred.

I created this origami crane 50 years ago.
It is a crane wishing for peace that has been sent out around the world through two Nobel Peace Prize-winning organizations.
Although it is made from a single piece of washi paper, it is a crane that transcends national borders and wishes for a world without war.
My folded cranes not only pray for world peace, but also help doctors on the front lines of saving lives.
両親、友人、お客様にあなたの感謝の気持ちを伝えるのに最適です。
Express your gratitude to your wife, husband, or customers.
It's hard to express gratitude in words, but this crane will convey your gratitude.

There is an old story called ”The Crane's Return of Favor."
I've been thinking about what this story is trying to say.
When you receive a favor, you must return it:
The story seems to teach us that when you receive a favor, you must return it through the crane's repayment of the favor.
The importance of keeping promises:
The happiness of the couple is lost as a result of breaking the promise not to watch the weaving, which shows the importance of keeping promises.
Destruction by greed:
Greed does not appear in the old couple version. The poor young man, seeking a richer life, unintentionally asks his daughter (the crane) to do hard work, and in the end he loses his loved one, which shows the destruction that greed brings.
Love and devotion:
The daughter (the crane) uses her feathers to weave cloth for the person who helped her seems to symbolize love and devotion. It seems to show the importance of helping others.
Beautiful gratitude:
The cloth woven for the person who helped her is beautiful. It seems to be a message that expressing gratitude is beautiful in itself, and that any form of gratitude is precious.
For some reason, there are many okonomiyaki restaurants in Hiroshima, where the atomic bomb was dropped.
For some reason, there is origami paper in the shops.
When you enter the shop, there is a large iron plate,
where the owner cooks the okonomiyaki in front of the customers, just like a steak.
In the short time it takes for the okonomiyaki to be cooked, customers fold paper cranes, praying for world peace.
These paper cranes, filled with prayers for peace, are collected and displayed in Hiroshima Peace Park.
The people of Hiroshima, who know the horrors of war, are praying for humanity, who have finally made this much progress, that there must never be another war. They are warning imperfect humans that they must not go back in the history of mankind.
The paper cranes are also a wish for peace.
Cranes are symbols of marital and family harmony, and are often depicted on the white wedding kimono. While many birds change partners every year, cranes stay with the same partner for many years once they have mated. This may also be due to the impressive behavior of deepening the bond between couples, such as their "courtship dance" and "singing to each other."
Cranes are also a symbol of longevity. They are often paired with turtles, and the saying goes "cranes live for a thousand years, turtles live for ten thousand years." In China, cranes have been a symbol of immortality and longevity since ancient times. Turtles are also a symbol of longevity, so it is said that they were introduced from China. In fact, red-crowned cranes live for 20 to 30 years in the wild and about 50 years in captivity, making them relatively long-lived birds.
国なんかなければ戦争は起きないのに!
理想主義者と呼ばれるかもしれないけれど、
そう考えるのは私一人ではないと思う。
If there were no countries, there would be no wars!
I might be called an idealist, but
I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this way.
This is the sea where the Imperial Japanese Navy was defeated during World War II. I think we should not spoil this beautiful sea with foolish wars anymore.
戦争はもうやめましょう。戦争には勝者も敗者もいません。戦争は憎しみの連鎖を生むだけです。
Let's stop war. There are no winners or losers in war. War only creates a cycle of hatred.
